Character Information
Name: Natasha Romanoff
Canon Origin/Series: Marvel Cinematic Universe
School Year: 3rd
Gender: Female
Age: 13
Out of school living location: Birmingham, UK
Blood status: Muggleborn

Personality:

Natasha is no nonsense and plays hard. That doesn't mean she's a bitch, it means that she's got a serious personality and doesn't go around being silly. She's a spy in canon which means no nonsense and deception. Not all deception is bad though, she currently uses her skills for good, like getting information out of bad guys. She uses her what resources she has, and if it takes a smile and a side glance, you can bet she's doing that to get results. She jumps in to action regardless of if she'll be safe, like questioning Bruce Banner about working with SHIELD and trying to talk him down during a change, it was unsuccessful but she still tried. She keeps a few people close, but still keeps them at a distance. Loki asks her if she loves Clint but she explains that she owes him, nothing more. He's her partner, the right hand to her left hand but that doesn't mean she tells him everything. After she knocked him out and back to the good guys side, she was hesitant to tell him why she was willing to jump in to a war fighting some aliens. He's also her partner, but she didn't hold back any punches when he was possessed by Loki, she knew he would go for the kill, so why shouldn't she? When she argues with people, depending on the situation, she'll just let them do their thing while she does hers. The best example of that is when Happy is driving her to Hammer industries to get Vanko, she tells him to wait in the car but he says no and goes in with her. She figures he'll be safer if he fights one security guard while she takes on the rest of the Hammer security team. Natasha has a bloody past in her canon, she's killed a lot of people and was saved by the people who went out to kill her. She owes SHIELD and Clint big time for that and wants to atone for her past actions. Sure some of those people deserved to die, but not all of them and those are the ones she regrets having killed.

Obviously she's not going to run around killing people in Hogwarts. Natasha will be the kind of girl who does her work to get ahead and take most things seriously. She'll have her SHIELD loyalty transfer over to her House, something she'll stick to and defend.

Canon Background: Her wiki page, The Avengers and Iron Man 2

Background (AU!Canon; HP):
Natasha was born in Volgograd, Russia and adopted by Ivan Petrovitch, a Russian man who moved to traveled mostly after the death of his wife and son. She had always known that she was adopted, but still thought of Ivan as what a Father should be. When she was four, they moved to England, where most of Ivan's business took him. She started to learn to speak English once moving, but still kept up with her Russian. Ivan was fond of cinema and theater and would take Natasha with him. One time they saw a ballet and she declared that she wanted to become a ballerina, Ivan said it would suit her because she was very active and Russians made the best ballerinas in the world. Once she started ballet, she became interested in being active in all kinds of sports, included running, gymnastics and a bit of martial arts.

When Natasha entered muggle primary school, she happened to meet a certain boy by the name of Clint Barton. A few months after meeting they became friends who rarely left the others side. Luckily when they turned ten, they both received letters to Hogwarts and didn't have to worry about going from seeing each other all the time to only on holidays. Ivan decided that Natasha would get her wand from Gregorivich, instead of Olivander, and recieved a Beech wand with a Dragon Heartstring core.

While at Hogwarts, Natasha went right to work, learning anything she could about her new world and how to fit in to it. She adapted quickly, not missing many perks of the muggle world save for being able to take ballet lessons and seeing movies with Ivan. She does well in History of Magic and Transfigurations, and okay in Potions and charms class. She's athletic, but she would rather watch Quidditch than participate in the match.

How would your character fit in to each House?
Gryffindor: Natasha has nerve and bravery. It takes a lot of that to become a spy and put your life in danger for a job. She can step up to the plate when she knows she should, like her deciding to go fight the chitauri when she knows that she's not a soldier. She jumps of a flying alien moter bike to get the job done, even if it doesn't seem like the smartest idea, she she talks herself in to it by saying it'll be fun.

Hufflepuff: Natasha knows how to work hard, she gets her jobs done with it. Her loyalty is only strong with certain people though. She's a spy in canon and your loyalty can only go so far. The people that she trusts though get her full loyalty. She has some tolerance, but that doesn't mean she won't kick your butt if you need it. Even if it looks like she betrayed someone, it's usually for a good cause and the ends justify the means.

Ravenclaw: Natasha is smart, you have to be in order to be as adaptable as she is. She picks up things quickly and retains the information. She has wit and can hold her own against the boys club of snarkyness. She gets her creativity from taking dance lessons when she went to muggle school, you also have to be creative when you're a spy and have to act quick. A good example of that is her ability to get information out of people without actually interrogating them.

Slytherin: Natasha is resourceful and cunning, you have to have those to be a spy and interrogate people. She thinks on her feet and as she goes, ran out of bullets? Grab that alien gun stick and start taking aim. She's not entirely ambitious in the big picture sense but she puts it in to getting good results. She's not very leadery in the MCU, but she has initiative and can get things done when working alone on something.

RP Samples:

Now that I'll be a third year I can finally go to the village. I'm tired of trying to sneak out with the students who can go. Clint, we're going to as soon as they let us, so be ready.

I applied to Elmhurst Ballet school for summer classes, but I'm too young. I'll just find somewhere else that will teach me en pointe. I should have started this already but it's not like Hogwarts has dance class. Speaking of classes, I decided my electives for next year. I'll be taking Ancient Runes and Arithmancy, Muggle Studies is pointless for myself and Divination is a bit childish. It sounds like a bunch of tall dark strangers and shadows behind every corner. I haven't ruled out Care of Magical Creatures though.

Sample two:

Natasha sat perfectly still in the chair as the teacher lectured her. They were new to the school but she saw a manila folder on their desk that looked thick enough to be hers. She had a few instances of detention for unsavory things in her first two years, not to mention her days at muggle school.

"You broke his nose, you know that, right?"

She kept an impassive face as she nodded in agreement. There was no point in denying it since the teacher saw it happen, and she was better than saying he started it. It had started out with comments about how she was always with Clint and they must be dating. When that didn't get a rise out of her it ended with comments about soulless gingers and a remark about matching curtains and drapes, it was the soulless remark that got to her. She was going to do more than break his nose.

"You have a record of getting in to fights. You're a bright girl Natasha and you work hard, if you avoid anymore confrontations until you reach fifth year, you could make Prefect. Not at this rate though, alright?"

She wanted to roll her eyes, but she was pleased that the conversation didn't turn to detention, but something more positive. "I'll try."

The teacher sent her on her way and when she left the classroom she saw Clint waiting for her in the hall. "Keep getting in trouble and you'll get kicked out."

Natasha finally rolled her eyes and just walked passed him and down the nearest stairs. "Who said that I was getting in trouble?"

"The blood trail leading away from the library is a bit of a gossip, you can't keep blood quiet. It's on your knuckles too."

She glanced at her hands before wiping it off with her robe sleeves. "That doesn't mean I was in trouble, so drop it."

"Alright, but don't cry to me when they pack you off."

"Enough! We're not discussing my record anymore, are we clear?"

"Like an invisibility cloak."
